Current State of the Industry

As many of you already know, the film industry is at an unusually slow pace for this time of year. Some of the reasons we're hearing from our many contacts in Hollywood: 

 

  • Studios overspent in 2022-2023 and are needing to pull back a bit.

  • Two more looming strikes might be giving producers a case of cold feet.

 

Like all of you, we're hopeful production picks up soon. In the meantime: stay active. Recommence making your personal film projects, keep honing your craft, stay connected to your local film community as much as possible, and continue following AFDMC's website updates. We look forward to seeing all of you on a film set soon
