A NOTE FROM THE PRESIDENT

The lawsuit by the Goldwater Institute is a wakeup call to all of us working to build a film industry here in Arizona. There are powerful people here who are philosophically opposed to the modern financial structure and competitive realities of today’s film and television industry. Regardless of politics, this is how states and countries compete for all sorts of industries today. Just this week, Nevada took steps to attract our industry and its high-paying jobs to Las Vegas. We have to be realists if we want film to be part of Arizona’s future. Right now, that reality means we need to be prepared to stand up for our incentive.

Here are two simple things we all can do today to help.

One. Recruit supporters to our cause. Encourage everyone you know who would like to help us build a film and television industry in Arizona to go to afdmc.org and become an activist.

Two. Help us tell our story. If you know someone in the film industry who is working out-of-state and would like to come home to Arizona, ask them to send me their story at randy@randymurrayproductions.com using the subject line: Coming Home
